Sandesha Theertha Yathra To Sabarimala


" Punyam Poonkavanam " is an initiative of the Police Headquarters IG, Sri. P Vijayan IPS, with Kerala Police, Devaswom Board, Health Department and other important, associated departments, engaged in Sabarimala.

The flag of ceremony of the Punyam Poonkavanam Sandesha Theertha Yatra to Sabarimala was held at the Sree Kanteshwara Temple premises on (4th December) morning at 9.30 am, and was flagged jointly by the Kozhikode City Police Chief, DIG Sri. A.V. George IPS, and the Chairman of Mathrubhumi & President of Sree Kanteshwara Temple Sri P.V. Chandran.

The function was also attended by Sri. Bijuraj ACP (Traffic South), Sri. Umesh CI , Sri. Ananda Mani. K, Office bearers and members of SK Temple and Punyam Poonkavanam Project.

The Theertha Yatra is accompanied by Sri. Jayaraj and Sri. Ranjith, two active members the Punyam Poonkavanam project. The Yatra will pass through 20 designated Punyam Poonkavanam Kendra temples , in Malappuram, Trichur, Ernakulam, Kottayam and Pathanamthitta, and will distribute the plants for the respective kendras and will reach Erumeli by 5th December evening. From Erumeli, the Yatra will proceed as a grand procession to Sabarimala, and will reach Pampa, and will proceed to Sabarimala, and will reach the Sannidhanam, by 9 am on 6th December morning. The 150 Punyam Poonkavanam Plants, will be planted in the space allocated for Punyam Poonkavanam by the Devaswom Board , by the Thanthri and Mel Shanthi ( Priest ) of Sabarimala, in the presence of Police Officials, Devaswom board members and other Ayyappa Seva Organization members. Sri. P.V. Chandran received the plants , that are to be planted in SK Temple and mentioned that they have already initiated the activities of the Punyam Poonkavanam project in the temple m, and wished the Yatra, a grand success.

City Police Chief Sri. George said that, by this activity, every mind is being planted with flowers, and through that, every individual is marching towards humanity, in the their minds.
